How do I add a new plugin to my website?

One advantage of WordPress is that there are thousands of plugins available to use on your website. On the websites created by Lef Creative, a few plugins are installed and used by default. These are:

Advanced Custom Fields PRO
Advanced Custom Fields: Theme Code Pro
ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO
Gravity Forms
UpdraftPlus
WP Mail SMTP
Yoast SEO

Adding a new plugin to your website is not always possible. To prevent the website from having issues with certain plugins, we disable the ability to add new plugins by default. Upon request, we can enable this functionality for your website. If this functionality is already enabled for your website, follow the steps below to add a new plugin to the website.

Step 1: Log in

Log in to your website. Go to www.yourdomainname.nl/wp/wp-admin

Step 2: Navigate

In the navigation menu, go to the tab “Settings” and click on “Plugins”.

Step 3: Check if installing plugins is possible

Since it is not standard to install plugins, it is useful to check this. You can easily verify this.
If there is a button next to the title “Plugins” on the page with the text “Add New Plugin”, then you can install plugins on your website. Click on the button “Add New Plugin”.
If this button is not there and you want to be able to install plugins, please contact us.

Step 4: Search for/upload and install the plugin

In the overview, you can search for the plugin you want to install. Click on the button “Install Now” next to the plugin.
If you have downloaded a plugin and have a .zip file of it, you can upload this plugin by clicking on the button “Upload Plugin”.

Step 5: Activate the plugin

After installing the plugin, it still needs to be activated. Click on the button “Activate” to activate the plugin.

Step 6: Configure the plugin

The final step is to configure the plugin, if the plugin has a settings page. Usually, after installing and activating the plugin, you will be redirected to the settings page.
If not, navigate in the navigation menu to the tab “Settings” and click on “Plugins”. Find the installed plugin and click on the button “Settings” or “Settings”. If this button is not available, it is not possible to configure this plugin.
