How do I create a template from a section?
Have you created a section that you want to use more often, such as a contact block or a call to request a quote? Save it as a template. You can do this from the page itself, or by starting a new builder. Here you can read about both methods.
In short
- Select the section, open the menu with the three dots, and choose Create template.
- Give it a Name and choose whether it should be Synced (enabled by default).
- Synced: the section in your page will be replaced by the linked template.
- Unsynced: the section remains, the builder is a separate copy.
- Or start a blank builder via Builders → Add New.
Two methods
- From the page: you have already built the section and want to save it. This is the quickest way.
- A new builder: you build the template from scratch, separate from a page.
Method 1: from the page
Step 1: Select the section
Click on the section you want to save in the editor. Make sure the section is selected, not a block or column within it. Use the list view or the up arrow in the toolbar if necessary to select the section. Want to save multiple sections together? Select them while holding Shift: they will come together in one builder.
Step 2: Choose Create template
Click on the three dots menu (⋮) in the section’s toolbar and choose Create template. You will only see this menu item if you have selected only sections.
Step 3: Give a name and choose Synced
The Create template window opens. Type a clear name in the Name field. Then choose with the toggle Synced:
- On (default): “This template remains live linked to the Builder. Changes in the Builder will appear wherever the template is used.”
- Off: “A copy: the current section remains, the Builder is an independent template.”
Step 4: Click on Create
Click on Create. A notification appears at the bottom of the editor:
- Template created and linked. For a synced template: the section in your page is replaced by the linked template. You now see it as Synced builder template.
- Template created as a copy. The original section remains. For an unsynced template: your page remains as it was, and the builder stands alone in your list.
Then click on Save to save the page.
Note: the template will be published immediately. If you choose Synced, keep in mind that any later changes in the builder will be visible on all pages using this template.

Method 2: a new builder
- Go to the menu on the left to Builders → Add New. You will enter the Add New Builder screen.
- Type a title at the top. That is the name of your template.
- Build the content with + Add Section, columns, and blocks, just like on a page.
- On the right in the Template settings box, check the Synced template option if the content needs to remain the same everywhere. By default, it is off (unsynced).
- Click on Publish. Only published builders will appear in + Add Template.
You can also start this method from a page: in the Add Template window, + Create Template opens a blank builder in a new tab.
Choosing a good name
You will search for templates later by name. Therefore, choose a name that indicates what it is and what it is for:
- Good: “CTA Request a Quote”, “Contact Block with Map”, “Reviews 3 Columns”.
- Less good: “My Template”, “Section 2”, “test”.
Start names of the same type with the same word, such as “CTA …”, so they are grouped together in the list.
Not working?
- I don’t see Create template in the menu. You have selected a block or column instead of the section. Select the section itself.
- Notification “Give the template a name.” The Name field is empty. Fill in a name.
- My section has disappeared and there is a linked block. That is correct for a synced template. Do you want the section back as a regular section? Choose Unlink at this location, see how to edit or unlink a synced template.
- I accidentally chose the wrong type. You can adjust the Synced template option later in the builder, see synced or unsynced.
How to place the template on other pages, read in adding a template to a page. More background can be found in what are builders and templates.
