How do I add frequently asked questions?
With the module Frequently Asked Questions, you manage all your questions and answers in one place. You categorize them and then place them on every page where they fit. If you modify an answer, it is updated everywhere immediately.
In short
- Enable the module under General Options → Frequently Asked Questions.
- Go to Frequently Asked Questions → Add New Frequently Asked Question.
- The question is the title, and you put the answer in the field Answer.
- Choose a Category on the right.
- The questions will appear on your website via the block Highlight Frequently Asked Questions.

Step 1: Enable the module
Don’t see Frequently Asked Questions in the left menu yet? Then go to General Options → Frequently Asked Questions, enable Enable Frequently Asked Questions and click Update. More explanation: enabling modules.
Step 2: Add a new question
Go to Frequently Asked Questions → Add New Frequently Asked Question.
Step 3: The question as the title, the answer below
The editor for a question is simple. There is also a message: “You fill in the frequently asked question as the title.”
- Type the question in the title field at the top, for example, “How long does it take to build a website?”.
- Write the answer in the field Answer. This is a text field with formatting: you can make words bold, create a list, or add a link.
Step 4: Choose a category
In the sidebar on the right, choose a Category, or create a new one. Categories can be, for example, “Websites”, “Hosting”, and “Pricing”. With categories, you can later place all questions about one topic on a page at once. You also manage them via the submenu of Frequently Asked Questions.
Click on Publish. A draft question will not appear on your website.
Good to know: a frequently asked question does not have its own page on your website. It only appears where you place it with the block Highlight Frequently Asked Questions. You can read how to do that in displaying frequently asked questions on a page.
Order
On your website, the questions are displayed in order of publication date: the newest question is at the top. This applies to an entire category and also when you select individual questions. If you want a question to be higher, you can adjust the publication date of that question. If you choose all categories automatically in the block, the oldest category will be at the top.
Tips for good questions and answers
- Write the question as a customer would ask it. “What does a website cost?” instead of “Pricing information”. This is how people also search on Google.
- Start the answer with the answer. “Yes, that is possible.” or “On average six weeks.” Then provide the explanation.
- Keep it short. Two to four sentences. If there is more to say, link to a page with the full explanation.
- One question per topic. Two questions that are similar make it difficult to search.
- Check them occasionally. Are prices, deadlines, and opening hours still correct?
Tip: for individual questions that only appear on one page, you can also use the block Accordion. See expandable blocks with the accordion. The module is more convenient if you use the same questions on multiple pages.
Not working?
- The Frequently Asked Questions menu is not there. Enable the module under General Options → Frequently Asked Questions and refresh the page.
- A new question is not on the website. Is it published and in a category that is selected in the block? For individual questions, you need to check it in the block itself.
- The question is in a different place than you want. The order is based on publication date, newest first. Adjust the date or place the question in its own category.
