How do I add extra sections under a product page?

What do you need?

• To know what a builder is. In short: a saved piece of page with sections that you display in multiple places. Read what builders and patterns are.
• For the base builder: a builder that you have already created. See creating a pattern from a section.

Step 1: Place a builder under each product

1. Go to General options → Webshop, tab Webshop.
2. Choose the builder that should be under each product page at Setting shop builder as the base.
3. Click on Update.

From now on, that builder will be under all your products. If you modify the builder, it will change on all product pages at once.

Step 2: Give one product its own builder

Open the product via Products and find the group Product – Builder. You have two options:

• Add new builder: leflite creates a new, empty builder for this product. It will be named “product name – Product builder”.
• Link existing builder: choose a builder you already have at Link builder. You can choose a maximum of one. Then click on Update.

If a builder is linked, you will see the message “This product is linked to the builder with ID: …” and the buttons Go to builder, Unlink builder, and Delete builder.

Edit the builder and return to the product

Click on Go to builder. The builder opens in the editor, where you can add sections and blocks just like on a regular page. See adding a section. Done? Click on Save and then at the top of the management bar on Return to product.

Disable the general builder for one product

Sometimes the general builder does not fit a product, for example, with a gift card. Then click in the group Product – Builder on Turn global builder on/off for this product. You will see in red: “The standard global builder is disabled for this product.” Click again to turn it back on.

Tip for your builder: with the Highlight Products block, you automatically display the cross-sells or up-sells of the product being viewed. See highlighting products. You can find more webshop features in everything about your webshop.

Having trouble?

• The builder does not appear under the product. After choosing a builder, click on Update. Also, check if the general builder has not been disabled for this product.
• You do not see the Go to builder button. It only appears after a builder has been linked and the product has been saved.
• A change applies to all products. You have modified the base builder, which is under each product. If you want it to be different only here, give this product its own builder.
